Janet has been painting for over 20 years and in that time she has developed and continues to explore her own unique way of depicting movement which is mainly expressed in her paintings of Scottish Dancers.

Using mixed media allows the variation in texture to show the unique look of the tartan and the exuberant movement of the dancing where her aim is to invoke a sense of pride and nostalgia in these old, traditional dances, She is regularly commissioned to paint specific tartans and celebration events such as weddings.

Musicians and sports events including rugby, football and golf are some of Janet's variety of subjects where capturing movement is the overriding theme but she is happy to accept a challenge in depicting the unique movement in any sport.
