David lives in Balloch by Loch Lomond and studied illustration and painting in Edinburgh.

The vibrant and ever changing colours of nature form the basis for David's work. The drama offered by the way light interacts with sea and sky is a constant source of inspiration. David's aim is to capture the essence of a moment, or a memory of a distant view capturing the way colours blend and reflect on water and tumbling clouds.

The breathtaking scenery of Scotland is reflected in David's work as he regularly travels all over the country with his family particularly it's stunning coastline.

David takes many photographs on his travels around the country and combines them with working from the memory of a particular place. This gives him more freedom of expression and the confidence to utilise bold colours creating energetic paintings which are full of emotion.
